To enable OSPFv3 on an interface and assign it to an area, use the set protocols ospf6 area interface vif disable command.

Command Syntax

set protocols ospf6 vrf vrf-name area area-id interface interface-name vif vif-name disable { true | false }

Parameters

vrf-name

Optional. Specifies a VRF name. The value is a string. It’s a user-defined VRF set by the command set ip vrf <vrf-name> [description <string>].

Note that: The configuration is in the default VRF if not explicitly bound to any VRF.

area-idThe OSPFv3 area to which the attached network belongs. Use dotted decimal notation, for example, 0.0.0.0 for area 0.
interface-nameInterface name.
vif-nameVirtual interface name.

Example

The following example configures assigns virtual inteface vlan2 to area 0:

admin@Switch# set protocols ospf6 area 0.0.0.0 interface vlan2 vif vlan2 disable false
